For over a decade, I have been gathering audio recordings around Detroit. Often working alone, this is meditative process for me; one that allows me to tune in to my surroundings in a new way. Sometimes the recordings make their way into my film work, as was the case with Into the Hinterlands. Othertimes, they become compositional pieces in their own right (as was thec ase with Delray, see below).

This four-channel musique concrète composition was recorded in and around a small forgings factory on the south side of Detroit. Played at Kinokophonography at New York Library for the Performing Arts (2014) and Radio Campfire, Detroit (2019).
